I actually think HPMoR¹ is good, like really good. Yes, the author is an AI-brained cultist, and if you read it while knowing that, the ideas in it are actually horrifying. BUT, if you read it as a parody of rationalism and a deconstruction of Harry Potter at the same time, it’s genuinely good.
Sadly the knowledge of what JKR has done and what Eliezer Yudkowsky has done completely taints it. So I don’t recommend reading it anymore.

@emmy watched a video from a woman who was reviewing and enjoyed atlas shrugged and was extremely apologetic about it but the only reason why she enjoyed it was because she thought it was a parody of the sort of thing it actually is lol
