Really sickened by how someone can just chuck a load of money at AI and easily pick up a bunch of fame and recognition for something they completely vibed up. I'm of course talking about the thing about the Super Mario 64 plaque text being upscaled to reveal "Eternal Star - We hope so": the Github repo for it is so obviously vibecoded and had barely any human input. Sure, the resulting discovery seems to line up so well that it might actually be the right phrase used to make the texture, but the person behind it should not deserve any recognition in the slightest if all they did is just get an AI agent running to do all of the work for them.
@bluestaggo also, some people already thought it said "Eternal Star" so the ai might've just decided to do what people already thought it might've said in order to appease them
@bluestaggo eternal star? i sure hope it is!
@shroomie Well the comparison gifs look convincing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It certainly looks very correct and it's very believable, it's just that I have distasteful feelings to the process behind it.
@bluestaggo i was just referencing the “road work ahead” vine lol
