some people have been weirdly mischaracterizing the rayman 30th anniversary edition, being disappointed and saying it's 'only a port', but uhh... it's got every version of the game, including an unreleased prototype, all 120 bonus levels, and it's by Digital Eclipse so you get an in depth documentary and historical context for the games included too. so it's basically the best possible port/presentation you could ask for actually. I hate how often video game criticism nowadays relies on mischaracterizing things

@fluttergirly I think its neat but also the prototype shouldn't be a thing that is being sold, its a piece of videogame history that should be on an archival site

okay now that it's out and I've been playing it I have one retraction to make, its a pretty big one, which is that they just entirely replaced the soundtrack. I didn't realize this because it just vaguely says that it "includes" a new 30th anniversary rendition of the soundtrack, and, silly me, I thought that meant its a bonus thing you could choose to listen to, but I couldn't find any options for it, so I looked it up and... turns out that's cause the original soundtrack isn't here at all. I didn't notice, cause I only played the game once like five years ago, and didn't remember the music, but like. its still a letdown, right? there's no explanation as to why its replaced or any solid indication that it was. I was otherwise gonna be really positive about this collection, but this is a pretty massive stain against it. I can't call it the definitive version of Rayman anymore with this
