Started reading Serious Weakness. Kind of insane how the medication is actually called "warfarin". Like naming a blood thinner warfare isn't just a flourish by the author, the real irl pill is just called that.

The early chapters of this book have so far made me google "warfarin" twice and "effects of blood thinner overdose" once. Whatever algorithm's tracking my every digital movement's probably a bit worried right now. That's fine, though, I think.

It's interesting how Trianon being forced to break up with his girlfriend makes me squirm in my seat while the graphic descriptions of torture don't. I guess the former hits close to home while the latter is fantastical enough I can read it through a more detached lens.

Something I find extremely interesting is how the story mentions Trianon's parents. His mom listens to hyperpop in the car and his dad is a right-wing streamer. It's a story about, like, the children of Gen Z, that's compelling.
