I mean, one thing he was right about is that he fucking hated cops and feds, he always said things like “I’ve never seem a criminal improved by time in prison… we have no right to keep a man in a cage, we don’t even have the right to keep animals in cages.”

tho i guess it’s the same reason he hated psychiatry ( tho he does actually make some solid criticisms of psychiatry ) it’s because he wants to be the guy in power

@AppleAmps

honestly, that would be a good move for scientology to embrace lgbtq+ rights, half the people on this network would jump on it “Look the church has changed, no you don’t take the alien invader force literally, it’s a spiritual alien invader force”

i’ve been listening to hours of L’s speeches and it isn’t half as unhinged as typical fedi discourse ngl

@AppleAmps problem with that tho is that sexual blackmail is one of their main mechanisms of control, so sexual repression is kindof important for auditors to reel in whales

Like, as an analysis of why cults like scientology don't embrace queer sexuality.

@AppleAmps mhmm, it’s modeled after catholicism / confession, the homophobia is actually a big reason a lot of people left since most of their members are california libs, whereas L Ron’s politics was like a right wing libertarian more or less, the Tories in the UK were sheltering them for a minute
