ok, moment to hate

i think minecraft is boring, i like redstone and some mods but overall the thing just gets very boring if not for the social aspect and just the idea of bombing other people's houses when they are not looking

like legitimately i just can't really find it much fun anymore, but it might be just depression because i really haven't played anything in a long while

@nelson i think there were videos floating around about rejuvenating the love for Minecraft. doing forever worlds for me is one of those ways

@nelson also playing modded or new weird modpacks or mods

overall i've found myself far more attracted to games where there's an aspect of boundless creativity and sadly minecraft is inherently very... bound-y

i like scrap mechanic faaar more than minecraft nowadays

honorary mention: the create mod!

Another type of game I am really loving are platformers like Super Mario 3D World for their fun gameplay, and also some RPGs like Undertale or Deltarune for their stories

I should play Omori but it's toooo fucking looong and honestly I don't really like OMOCAT or the original Omori comics? I am a bit attracted to it only because of Bo En's My Time showing up on it apparently

@unnick vanilla is deeply unfun to me and while some of the new updates seem cool i just... haven't found much fun on minecraft in general, with and without the updates it seems like the formula itself has grown a bit boring in general

@unnick punch tree, get wood, get tools, build house, get better tools, kill things, and so on

@nelson How many hours have you put into the game? I think at some point, any game will get boring no matter of how boundless or "boundful".

@newbyte every game gets boring, i agree with this, but i just wish there was more you could actually do with the minecraft formula

i kind of like what scrap mechanic did because it's like they saw everything that is limiting minecraft and figured out how to extract this same feeling of building and gathering resources but put the focus on building contraptions and in exploring the world with these big structures and complex terrain you have to take into account while building stuff like vehicles for efficient transportation

i still have to say that there's a simplistic beauty on how minecraft works as a game but i just... can't vibe with it anymore, and i don't think that the new updates really expand upon the concept but just add more things on top expecting it to work better, but it's fundamentally the exact same game with different meta each time
