@shroomie i don’t understand why it matters when you start if the skill is truly that important to you

@breaadyboy it’s about like. knowledge retention and like. “absorbancy.” as well as just having a head-start on learning

@shroomie i think you are being a perfectionist about learning.
anything is better than nothing. waiting isn’t gonna make you any younger. you gotta stop lamenting about how you missed your opportunity and actually start doing something

@breaadyboy the second part of the issue is that i have a lot of problems with motivation.

@shroomie do you want to be good at programming because you love programming or do you want to be good at programming because you think it’s a thing that you should be good at?

@breaadyboy a little of both????? i love creating things, and i love the challenge that programming issues pose.

@shroomie it just seems odd that you really want to be good at programming but don’t seem to take many steps to achieve that. you don’t need to force yourself to learn it just because you think you need to be good at it. there’s never gonna be a perfect moment to start. just. start. watch some tutorials and follow along, or hop on scratch and just try to make something. as far as i can tell there’s some barrier between you wanting to learn and you actually going to learn, and im not sure what it is
