TACTICAL NUKE INCOMING!!!

i don’t like gimp or krita or shotcut or… or tux kart.

krita is mostly fine, gimp is OKAY but really confusing, shotcut is even more confusing and also feels a little janky, and why would i play tuck art when i have a switch with mario kart on it

@AppleAmps the only linux computer i have that can presently run tux kart sucks ass and doesn’t do it well and i don’t want to mess with it elsewhere. BUT it really is as simple as “i have a kart racing silly items game that i like and care about more already and have been playing for a decade”

@FawnOverFun I don’t think games should be considered alternatives to each other. That’s not how art works

SuperTuxKart is very different from Mario Kart on purpose, and I like some aspects of both more than the other

so far affinity has been good but i think that might be macos only idr. so- yeah photoshop is probably your best bet, like- pirating the 2021 version or smthn lol, idk

@f00fc7c8 meh, it fills the same role in my rotation of games that i play, so despite their differences, there is not room for two kart racing games in my heart really

i have other problems with affinity (tried using it for photo editing and either it SUCKS or i just haven't found out how really to use it) but hopefully the image editor / paint.app part of it is fine

@f00fc7c8 i think tux kart is a fine game on its own but also i like mario kart more and ive been playing mario kart for a decade and i’m pretty alright at mario kart so i would like to play mario kart

@lina yeah- it doesn’t seem super good for photo editing unfortunately

@FawnOverFun id say so, its open source and has been good enough for me

but the learning curve is honestly very steep, or at least it has been for me

The humble fruit salad asks us to conceptualize a synthesis of such things. A life reduced to such smallminded binary choices is not one worth living, and just as the humble peach can be enjoyed with its sisters the apple, the strawberry, and the kiwi, Tux Kart can, in fact it *should*, be enjoyed alongside its lost brother "Mario Kart".

@AppleAmps @AppleAmps meh i mainly time trial racing games these days and learning a new game takes investment that i’m not willing to continuously put in for tux kart as again i would have to turn my server computer into a thing that can run tux kart and i Dont Feel Like It….

@lina @FawnOverFun it works perfect for me!! but to be fair i just use it to brigthen up the analogue photos i take if they come out underexposed, i dunno how good it is for professional raw editing (but it seems to be a powerful tool)

@endali @FawnOverFun wasnt the original point buttttt this is actually very reassuring for me because like every time i open it i have this impostor syndrome kinda thing with "all the good photographers use it so much better and im just moving sliders".. ;--;

@lina @endali i e used the ios photos app for all my pics for the last… since ive been taking pictures, so like- a decade now probably i guess

i’m not a suuuper serious photographer or anything but you don’t need much to make a good photo…
