Yeah, as a map for *navigation*, as a map that shows *direction*, as a map for fucking *sailors*. NOT as the *default fucking map we use to teach schoolchildren how the world works*, the use of the Mercator map projection by fucking SHIPPING COMPANIES isn't what's being questioned, dumbfuck, it's the fact that it's used as the default geographic projection in all aspects of life DESPITE NOT BEING FUCKING DESIGNED FOR THAT, and how it's kind of convenient for said northern hemisphere imperialists that they just so happened to normalize a map that LITERALLY makes them bigger than the people they were colonizing.

you see paying thousands of cops to protect the border from those pesky subhuman asylum seekers is definitely more worth it than offering them basic humanitarian support and giving them an opportunity to work and ultimately benefit the economy
