If you wanna know how *real* love for a fictional character is like look at how lesbians talk about the demon girl from Baldur's Gate, for instance. Gamerboys talk about Eve from Stellar Blade like she's a particularly nice watch or something, but they don't really do so with any real passion or admiration.
Plus I could go bar for bar with them in terms of game design analysis easily, I have played more videogames than Mark Kern, I know more *about* videogames than Mark Kern, and I care more about videogames than Mark Kern could ever dream of.

Currently watching the latest Shaun video, and like, these people, despite making their entire identities be centered around their status as "heterosexual gamerboys" don't seem to like women OR videogames very much?
Like, they don't talk about the female characters they claim to like with any of the language I associate with people that actually love something, and their grasp on a game's quality and design is remedial at best.
