I mean just to be clear the point is "don't trust fucking Democrats and other liberals because they are absolutely there to marshall your energy towards electing Gavin Newsom in 3 years" not "don't do an effective protest movement against fascism that represents our only real fucking win since this shitshow started." I do wonder if the North American conflation of factory jobs with "good work" is more than anything a yearning for unions. Like, you're less likely to get your hand crushed working as a silicon valley programmer or whatever but those jobs aren't unionized so over all the experience feels less dignified. Idk though.

Reading the Disco Elysium book is fully worth it for a lot of things, but the main one is the revelation that the only two forces capable of stopping the Pale is 1) Electronic music, and 2) Communism.

In any other story that would come off as insanely hokey but they play it so straight that its frankly beautiful.

I get that "these two dudes fixed a bridge when the GOVERNMENT couldn't!!" is a feel good story and all, but like, maybe there's a reason why you generally want trained, licensed professionals doing that, right? The effects of poorly maintained infrastructure are felt for decades so I can't fault local governments for wanting to get someone who knows what they're doing instead of two vigilantes with shovels.

community guidelines

  1. you must be over 14 years old to join. coral castle's servers are hosted in chile, and under article 19,628 of the laws of chile, we are unauthorized to collect data from people under 14.
  2. do not spam or raid. the fediverse is not your space to intoxicate.
  3. nsfw/nsfl content must be marked as sensitive. coral castle is built to be used as a casual instance, and as such should be accessible anywhere.
  4. hate speech, paraphilia, and harassment will get you banned. having basic human decency is key anywhere. whether it is in real life or on the internet, don't be a jerk.
  5. keep things legal. this includes pirated content, since we want to keep a good relationship across fediverse servers. posting CSAM is strictly forbidden and will result in legal action.

moderation policies

the sanctions for local users will be relative to the gravity of their infringements, varying from simply deleting the offending material, to warning the user through a three-strike system, to immediately banning the offending user.
