broke: swapping backspace and backslash woke: swapping enter and backslash (cause its mapped to mod3)

despite xkb’s best efforts, i have finally done it, i created an xkb_symbol file that swaps the return and the backslash key (which is actually a mod3 in this case) so that i can have a much easier to reach right mod3 now, just have to also add the option to make super a mod4 since i dont have a working mod4 atm and yea, actually decent to use koy setup despite being on an ansi keyboard

Edit: Lots of responses suggest it’s related to social services. Am still very curious, but feels like it assuages a couple of my more intensely paranoid worries :3

Lots of my unhoused neighbors randomly received free cheap tech (tablets and phones) from seemingly a random startup completely unrelated to any city social service…

And I’m feeling very VERY suspicious about it

The stuff swimming thru my head is some combo of campaign to make the unhoused seem like they have less needs (nimbyism campaign) to surveillance (cop tracking) to some other nonsense, to even just dumping tech onto the unhoused to inflate numbers or something/make the tech company look like they’re doing good works. Edit: Vortex still seems shady as fuck, but these specific threads of thought I feel are less salient as my concerns with the devices.

Any others either know about this company, or are in Seattle and are down to check out a sus as fuck tech company/sus as fuck tech?
