@anathema one soyjak is barely more powerful than a speck of dust, but two is as powerful as a dog, and four as powerful a man. with enough soyjaks, governments will bend

The current chaos in WordPress caused by Matt seems like a good time to remind folks that the Mastodon “community” websites and trademarks are 100% owned by one man, despite pleas from current and former project members to make Mastodon a foundation with a board.

see people think of DNA as code, which implies that when run a million times you get the same result every time. when it's more like ikea instructions.

identical twins are very rarely actually identical and indistinguishable. this is because the environment affects dna expression. small mistranslations, failures to read, write, or even a cosimc ray can change dna expression, or even dna duplication and then every cell after that. small differences in nutrition, or learning, can cause differences in growth or behavior.

i can build 100 of the same piece of ikea furniture using the same instructions and they'll all have tiny differences. missing a screw here, a panel at a 3 degree angle there. slightly different.
