when looking for alternatives for #discord, you really start to notice how much it does; dms, public chatrooms with topic channels, voice AND video chat, and livestreams.

that’s kind of a lot of features, each its own technical maintenance, plus the last two taking up ALOT of bandwidth.

just saying you’re probably not going to find one single app that does all of them, and that’s ok. don’t treat discord as the ONE standard all apps must conform to as a base.
