Just went and watched Superman. WHAT A GOOD MOVIE.

Not exactly high cinema but it's the best superhero flick this decade at least, probably in the top 5 for the 21st century so far. The acting was phenomenal, the score was fantastic, and I'll be honest, a couple scenes were honest to god tearjerkers.

The scene that most stood out to me was a fight scene that featured Superman spending as much or more time protecting random civilians, animals, and buildings from his Kaiju opponent as he did fighting it. In a world dominated by big punchemups where bad guys are slammed through buildings with reckless abandon, the thought of a humanist superhero that cares about saving *everyone* is really something.

Also there was a kind of clunky israel-palestine allegory, pretty white-savior-y but I'd be lying if I said I didn't cheer when the good guys came in to save the day.

There was a scene near the end where Hawkgirl kills the very obvious allegory for Netanyahu(/Putin) as the music swells and we get a "look at this BASED ALL-AMERICAN hero" shot, idk man, it's stupid but it made me grin like a dumbass.

@shroomie
They're all great, Volume 2 specifically might be my favorite Superhero movie ever, tbh.
