The problem with apple tier lists is that people rank apples using Red Delicious as a baseline, when someone says Honeycrisp or SweeTango are 10/10 it's because they do what RDs are supposed to but better. I love apples but what I want most of all is sour, like my baseline is Granny Smith and because of that GS is my #1 just because there are no other big name strains that do what it does well.

See, but that's exactly my point! Look at their rankings for sour apples specifically and it's at the top, beaten only by a Belgian specialty apple.

Overall it's like, exactly middle of the pack but for sours it's second. Fourth technically but counting only officially reviewed apples it's second.

But that's what I'm telling you! In the sour apple rankings the number doesn't matter because it tells you how it does in the overall rankings, if you're judging it just as a sour apple all that matters is how high up it is!!
