Something interesting about Martian Manhunter as a superhero is that he's basically the only high-profile Justice League member that engages with humanity as an outsider.

Superman is genetically inhuman but he was raised as one, so he knows intuitively what it means to "act" like a person. He's Clark before he's Supes. Similar thing happens to Wonder Woman, she was raised by the amazons but in most ways they're just humans+, Diana was raised in accordance to human customs, just with more power. It makes sense she'd want to protect us in the way that mothers protect their children.

But MM? Despite being born closer to Earth than Superman J'onn is, well, alien. He protects humanity because he *learned* to love it, not because he was immersed in it from birth, and honestly that makes me love him even more.

@shroomie
Martian Manhunter is like top 5 most powerful DC characters but Marvin's pretty goofy so for me it'd be a draw.

@shroomie
Shapeshifting, telekinesis, shape-shifting, mind-reading, plus all of Superman's power arsenal if you swap out kryptonite for a weakness to fire. He's from right before the silver age of comics, so the power scaling is kinda dumb.

@AppleAmps martian manhunter vs pyro (the nobody gets to move first but the pyro is particularly good at being stealthy)

@shroomie
Actually Pyro is a really fun idea, their mind is closed off from psychic interference and they wield MM's main weakness.

@shroomie
I have! They're great. Also what I meant by that is that even to a trained psychic Pyro's mind must be impossible to understand.
