I really do think that being able to say things without saying them TO someone is the worst thing about social media.

Like irl all interactions are filtered through the fact that if you want to tell someone that being transfem makes you racist or being transmasc makes you misogynist or watching steven universe makes you hitler, you have to say it to someone's face and risk them looking at you in the eyes and going "dude... what?". You can't just shout stupid discourse into the void irl so a lot of people, arguably not enough people but still, get pressured out of engaging in that stuff because the risk of whoever you're talking to thinking you're being rude and antisocial is too great.

My irl friend group had a bit a while ago where someone would just say "Raúl" and everyone would reply with "Raúl" so arguably this also works outside the internet.
