I know that it's like, the definition of toxic masculinity but I gotta admit that Jackass kinda goes hard. There's something truly magical about seeing a man get a bowling ball to the groin for seemingly no reason other than "hey dude look at this".

@AppleAmps i thought jackass whas just a collection of kinda intense pranks some dudes played on each other that were then stitched together and turned into a feature film

I mean, maybe I'm functioning on antiquated logic but I always felt like that kind of very physical oneupsmanship, especially when, like in Jackass, it's done mostly by men for an audience of predominantly men, was pretty machismo-coded. Especially considering the amount of dick stuff they do, y'know? And it's toxic, or at least I'd say it is, because at the end of the day it's a bunch of dudes getting other dudes to do insane, dangerous stunts through a mix of peer pressure and economic incentives.
