Making a trans character in your fantasy setting magically switch out their body for one of the opposite sex to me feels like when people write blind characters with perfect echolocation or amputees with prosthetics that work exactly like real limbs. If you're not gonna bother writing about the physical reality of something why do it at all.

An interesting side effect of how Hitler and so many of his peers went out is that it permanently tied Naziism to suicide in popular culture.
Just for an example there are two separate indie roguelikes that feature nazi bosses you can goad into offing themselves, mewgenics and brutal orchestra, and in both it feels like such an artistic slam dunk because it ties fascism's inherent self-defeating qualities with the fact that history's most famous fascist literally did go out like that.
