That's actually what they did in Argentina! In 1942 we switched over to DST and just never went back. The nation of Argentina has been in permanent daylight savings time for almost a century.

I've actually thought of that extensively. The main sticking point for me after we put our clothes back on would be IDs, because either I have to report them to the govt as an identical twin that I've just never disclosed I had up until now OR let them use my ID and accounts for everything, which adds a bunch of extra complications.

AppleAmpsI mean I've done the classic "if we were stranded on an island who would we eat first" hypothetical with friends, I guess. And also I read somewhere that human flesh is saltier than other meats which always came across to me as interesting trivia. Never, like, thought of it out of the blue.

so, in chile we had this program that would allow any kid in chile, as long as they've studied up to 7th year of school, a new laptop
these laptops would be quite decent, and would come preloaded with useful open source software and tools for creativity, such as blender, geogebra, a DAW with a free paid license, scratch, code editors, etc. I was one of the people who got one of these and it was my first interaction with some of that software.
this current government, decided to shut it down after it told people to calm down over allegations of budget cuts. they keep removing programs, they keep trying to make people illiterate, sickly, unhappy, dying.
i'm so pissed. you know it's bad when even the moderate right thinks that was a horrible move.
