@breaadyboy you aren’t that but when you are vaguely like that it’s fine because you’re cute
@AppleAmps like hexagons are, as the kids might say, goated because they tile and all of their adjacent tiles are equally far away from each other. but they come with the compromise that you have to choose between being able to move directly vertically or moving directly horizontally. but you can have your cake and eat it too. if you just bend space so that you can perfectly tile octagons, then you get everything. with the compromise that directions don’t actually exist as you knew them anymore. which is fair imo
@AppleAmps <- is so desperate for games with tiling octagons that she will bend space to get it
@breaadyboy webp isn’t bad but it just makes me mourn jpegxl. killed at google’s own hands. except maybe not killed. except maybe killed
@AppleAmps i’m just waiting for hyperbolic chess with tiled octagons to come out
@AppleAmps jared leto shows up at the office and asserts himself and toby doesn’t really know what to do

I believe that an actual artificial intelligence/consciousness is possible to create, because intelligence and consciousness are things that. yknow. observably exist. and so there is some way in which to create them, the only currently known way being biological evolutionary processes.
what I don't believe is that LLMs can ever achieve such a thing, because if you know how they work/what they are, you easily realize that it's just. not on a path that could ever lead there.
like, we often compare brains to computers, but the way brains are structured and operate is pretty fundamentally different from the way we make computers. so I think in order to start approaching an artificial intelligence, you'd need to invent a completely new type of computer, at the least
@fluttergirly tbh i don’t really care for what the rayman franchise was after rayman 1. like there’s this love of and reverence for nature and a sense of whimsy that rayman 1 nailed and that rayman 2 just seems to have completely abandoned
@fluttergirly on today’s edition of remakes we didn’t need but which seem good anyways!
