Yeah but like, idk if I'd count "the inciting incident of the story" as a spoiler for basically anything.

Also the post itself doesn't even say that, it says that the main plot hook is related to why Bernie Sanders isn't dead but by that metric for all intents and purposes it could be a story about how Vermontians are vampires.

It's spoilers that 17776 is about immortality? Isn't that like, the main thrust of the plot?

Turns out acclaimed web serial 17776 is just an elaborate "here's how Bernie can still win" joke.

Underrated detail I noticed re-reading 17776:

At the start, in the video "what year is it?" they show a list of US presidents, specifically, Tom Cotton winning two terms in 2020 and 2024, Tulsi Gabbard winning two in 2028 and 2032, then Keith Ellison, then George P. Bush, and thennnn....

Bernie Sanders! Seemingly elected in 2044. When I saw that I thought that it was a weird plot hole, like, Bernie's too old to run *now*, by 2044 he'll be dead, right? Oh! Oh yeah!

So, uh, yeah, Jon Bois put in a cool detail showing 17776's plot hook before it gets introduced textually, neat.

@fiore
Yeah! Weirdly enough it's basically the same plot as Yorgos Lanthimos' Bugonia but with the roles swapped.

Toy Story from Buzz's perspective is kinda fucked, right? Like, an astronaut crash-lands on an alien planet and gets gaslit by the cultish locals into thinking he was *born* on that planet and was secretly *one of them* all along.

I kinda wonder the reasons other trans women and tranfems have for transitioning. Like, if we can agree that systemic male privilege is a thing and that cis men tend to get payed more, assaulted less, etc, why *wouldn't* you wanna be a man?

Like, I know my reasons but I do often wonder about those of others.

Yeah, of course! I just tend to refrain because of the plight of the migrant workers.

Make a Tumblr account and you will see thousands, possibly millions of people that have Mandela effected their way into thinking that A) Ralsei is a trans girl and B) this will be confirmed canon before the game is over.
